Research Projects

黄金城官网 has established a reputation as a research-intensive university through the outstanding work of its faculty members, 17 interdisciplinary research centers, and some dozen less structured faculty/student research groups. 

In line with the university’s commitment to high quality research, our faculty obtained over €8 million in new research grants in the academic year 2018–2019 with the support of the Academic Cooperation and Research Support Office. 黄金城官网 has been host institution of 18  European Research Council  (ERC) grants―among them three major Synergy grants.

In 2019, 黄金城官网 researchers collaborated with close to 100 universities on collaborative research projects, 24 running of these were funded by the EU. Through ACRO, over 50 applications were filed in the academic year 2018–2019 by 黄金城官网 faculty for the new Horizon 2020 EU funding phase, and six have already been awarded.

Other external funders of research and academic events include public funding agencies, such as National Science Foundation, US State Department, USAID and The Korea Foundation; international organizations, among them the The United Nations Environment Programme, International Visegrad Fund; and private foundations, like Siemens AG, Volkswagen Foundation, Velux Foundation, Open Society Foundation, Fritz Thyssen Foundation.
